Diaries of Note: 366 Lives, One Day at a Time

It’s with almost rabid glee that I can reveal the reason for my recent silence: in October of this year, Diaries of Note will become a book—and a beautiful one at that.

Its full title is Diaries of Note: 366 Lives, One Day at a Time, and it will be published by the lovely folk at Faber, a publishing house I’ve admired for as long as I’ve been reading. Better still, it will include beautiful illustrations by Joanna Lisowiec, whose work brings another layer of life to the stories within.

A diary is a rare thing: an unfiltered space where a person can meet themselves without judgement, without audience, and (for most, at least) without performance. In an age of constant sharing and curated lives, the diary remains stubbornly private, gloriously unedited. It offers us something we rarely find elsewhere: truth, in all its flawed and fleeting glory.

This book is a celebration of that tradition: a patchwork of human experience, stitched together one day at a time. Some entries are no more than a sentence. Others sprawl across the page. Some are heartbreaking. Others will make you laugh like a drain. All of them, I hope, will make you feel something.

We’ve a few months to wait, but I just wanted you to know: Diaries of Note is no longer just a newsletter, or a blog, or whatever you want to call this online thing. Soon, it’ll be something you can hold—I could not be happier.

Pre-orders would mean the world, and links to a few stockists can be found here. And of course, there’s always your local bookshop.

Thanks for your patience while I brought this thing to life.

Shaun
